Yes they could be deceived - don't know them personally so don't know. One more thing I learned from some observing muslims - in strict Islam if you weren't witness then don't judge or assume. Tell the truth if it's " I don't know " ! Terrorism and suicide are " fundamentally " against Islam. I have researched this from many sources after 9/11. Born and raised in SUFI ISLAM with a lot of chanting, drumming, good muslim cuisine and families socializing/communing I was shell shocked that somebody was presenting terrorism as ISLAM !!! I have since been deeply disturbed and try to study/educate and share with fellow muslims all of whom so far thank God agree with me. I was studying/socializing in (HALAQA) circle some evenings in San Francisco about the life and times of Prophet Mohd./jESUS/Moses/Abrahakm etc. just to connect with my roots and decided one day to ask a Tunisian well educated volunteer @ AL-SABEEL.ORG even though I felt I knew the answer intuitively. He saiid in ISLAM u r not allowed to disturb your neighbor so the question doesn't arise. War in Islam - he refreshed my rusty memory - is only permissible under only the most extreme circumstances after all avenues of negotiation with the enemy are completely exhausted after long and deep peaceful negotiations. Generally considered kosher only if your land, cattle, family and faith are under attack in self-defense. The war must be declared, only men on both sides must be allowed to fight, women children, elderly, disabled and the trees on both sides are to be protected. Suicide is also terribly against Islam and this I was told as a kid although we weren't expected to be terribly strict observers as kids or otherwise unfortunately since when I study the deep and peaceful precepts of Islam and am around the calm and peacey women O love it ! Deep wisdom. It's a shame that folks whether for money, ego, out of ignorance or for political reasons choose to defame their own faith. All religions of the world preach about being good and loving your neighbor, but there's always a group of radicals or extreme misinterpreters . Or just hateful, arrogant and violent folks ....as a pacifist I find even this discussion hard. At the mosque in SF - I said " Why don't we have an ADAN or prayer call outside like in India and the Secretary said " we do it inside so as not to disturb anybody" . Why would they allow themselves to die such horrible deaths if Jesus had not been the resurrected Messiah? What did they gain from following him if he died and stayed dead? Power, wealth, fame, respect, you know, all the things we value and glorify to this very day? I mean, seriously, why would you knowingly die for a lie? The poor Muslim, who is told to put on a vest of dynamite and go and kill a bunch of Jews sitting in a Tel Aviv pizzeria, doesn’t realize until it is too late that his promise of 72 virgins, wealth, and notoriety was a lie. I mean they have to take those promises on faith, correct? Yet, they discover too late that they have been deceived. But what about the disciples, were thy deceived? If Jesus says to them, I am going to die and in three days be resurrected so stand ready; however, he does not resurrect himself. Then why do they subject themselves to a martyr’s death? They gain nothing from this! Therefore, logic would dictate that Jesus Christ was in fact resurrected. Now, as for him dying for YOUR sins and you needing to believe and accept the free gift of salvation he has provided (otherwise you die separated from Christ and go to hell). Well, I guess that you must take that on faith.
